Definition of Metal Stamping

Types of Metal Stamping
Generally, there are five types of metal stamping techniques which include fine blanking, gripflow, fourslide, deep draw and progressive.

Fourslide stamping, like the name suggests, uses four tools at the same time to morph the metal into the desired shape. Deep drawing means creating depth in the sheet of metal without taking up as much space, which ends up saving money. Grip flow and fine blanking both produce smooth edge parts with close tolerances impossible to produce by conventional blanking. It can also produce precision countersinks, semi-piercing, simple forms, and bends. It can also produce holes smaller than the thickness of the material or closer to the material edge than half the material thickness.
