Mandrel Formed Rolled Rings

Rings are formed when billet is heated and shaped using open die forging processes with the help of a mandrel.

There is no tooling required for these types of forgings. Production quantities from 1 to 1,000’s.

Open Die Forging Process

Desired Shape is formed by Turning and manipulating hot billet material between blows by mechanical or hydraulic hammers.

Alloys commonly forged include:

  • Tool Steels
  • Stainless Steels
  • Carbon Steels
  • Aluminum
  • Titanium
  • High Temperature Steels
  • Capabilities of producing rings from 3” O.D. up to 72” O.D.
  • Weights up to 10,000 pounds
  • Value Added Services include rough and finish machining, sand blasting, annealing and heat treatment to print.
